Training Course Titles and Descriptions 

FIS Introduction/External Purchasing

This first part of the class instructs the user on how to use Marketplace (the University's web-based purchasing system).  Users will sign into AISystem and link to Marketplace.  They will learn to create a requisition from a punch-out vendor, hosted vendor, enter a non-catalog order and create a new vendor.  They will learn how to create and/or shop from favorites list.  The focus of the class will then transfer to AISystem and the user will learn how to set up and use the work lists and Document Inquiry.    Back to top

FIS Accounts Payable/External Invoicing  

The class covers how to enter needed adjustments on Purchase Orders entered in Marketplace or AISystem along with the documents required to pay the purchase order.  Specific topics include the creation of Change Order for line-item and blanket order purchases Orders, accessing the Document Image component, processing invoices for all Purchase Order types and Free Balance invoices, entering Receiving Reports and using the AP Vendor Document component to research order or payment activity for a vendor.  Back to top

FIS General Topics

This course covers the entry of Check Request, using the Travel Menu options, (Travel Advance, Travel Expense Report, Travel Inquiry, and Travel List Maintenance).  Back to top 

FIS Account Inquiry

This course covers Account Inquiry and entry of the Budget Adjustment and the Journal document. Back to top 

Proposal Development System

The Proposal Development System - PDS will provide an overview of the system and instructs the user how to add a proposal that is not a System to System grant that downloads a funding opportunity, enter compliance information, and attachments and create system designed forms. Back to top 

AIS Report Writing - Beginning

This class teaches the basics of developing a report using the Editor.  It is appropriate for users who have experienced limitations with the menu reports and need to begin developing customized reports. Back to top 

HRMS (Human Resources Management System)

This two (2) day course teaches the fundamentals of system navigation and the data retrieval process.  In this hands-on course, you will gain skills and knowledge necessary to hire, promote, transfer and terminate both monthly and Bi-weekly employees along with running reports and queries.

This course is required to be completed for users with the security role of "Super User." Back to top
